POLYPROPYLENE

Polypropylene is the most versatile polymer. It is used for the production of products with different characteristics: solid, flexible, light, heat resistant. It can also be used to make fibers, both in the industrial and agricultural sectors.

It is used for the production of goods such as:

• plastic parts,
• floor coverings,
• packaging,
• office supplies,
• household appliances,
• laboratory equipment.

There are three main types of polypropylene, and their use depends on the characteristics and costs:

– Homopolymer PP,
– Block Copolymer PP,
– Random copolymer PP.

It can be in the form of white or transparent powder or granules, but also colored with pigments.
Polypropylene is one of the most common materials for the production of plastic items.
The features that distinguish it are: moderate elasticity, good hardness, good resistance to material fatigue, chemicals and heat.

The polymerization was obtained at relatively low temperatures to give a colorless or slightly colored polypropylene. Depending on the catalyst used and the polymerization conditions, different properties of polypropylene can be obtained.
